Since everybody keeps asking me how I got into Local 1 like I'm some expert lol. I'm a first year. I got in, I don't fully know why, and I'm not going to pretend I know how it works this year. So let's just do a roll call. If you're in Local 1, Local 3, Local 638, or you tried and didn't get in, say how it went for you: how many tries, what you were doing before, what you'd tell somebody applying now. Non-union people welcome too, half of Brooklyn is non-union and doing fine. No 'my uncle said' stories, only what happened to you.
Still in school in Queens, just reading all of this. There's an IBEW foreman on here who answers everybody, so I'm getting a lot of good advice already.
