Weekend helper job is cutting into my program. Worth it?

Senior in an electrical program at a trade high school in Queens. Got a weekend helper job with a small shop in Ridgewood, Saturdays and some Sundays. Good money for me, and the foreman lets me do a little more every week. Problem is my grades slipped and my mom is on me about it. Do the hours matter more than grades if I want an apprenticeship? Or am I screwing myself.

Both matter. When I applied they asked about school and about work, so I would not let either one go. Drop Sundays and keep Saturdays. You still get the experience and your mother calms down. Appreciate you asking before it got worse.
